NEW CAREERS, NEW DIRECTIONS, NEW POSSIBILITIES
FOR ARTISTS AND VETERANS
Our Vision to Support Cultural Growth in Western Iowa
New Century Art Guild, a non-profit arts organization co-founded by veterans and artists, will sponsor an open house and veteran appreciation day on Sunday, November 10th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in Kimballton, IA.
Two art galleries on Kimballton’s Main Street will be open to the public to view veterans’ artwork and taste local wines beginning at 4:00p.m. A chili cook-off will be held at the Cottonwood Barn at 5:30pm. Chili cooks will be vying for the top three prizes, to be determined by the most donations they collect in nearby buckets. Proceeds will go to student and veteran art scholarships. Entertainment will be provided by Loren Christensen on acoustic guitar and the widely popular singing-duo the “Polka Police” will provide music for a barn dance. Other attractions include a keg of artisan craft beer, an “Ole and Lena” joke contest and a bonfire (weather permitting) with hot chocolate and ice cream. This is a family friendly event; free and open to the public.
